Waterloo – Valentine’s Day is Friday, Feb. 14. Wilfrid Laurier University has experts available to speak about love, relationships, Valentine’s Day marketing and related topics.
Justin Cavallo, associate professor in Laurier’s Department of Psychology, is an expert on close relationships, motivation and self-esteem. His research examines close relationships from a social cognitive perspective and how prior relationship experiences influence people’s approach to subsequent relationships. Brad Davis, associate professor of marketing in Laurier’s Lazaridis School of Business and Economics, is an expert on brand communications and strategy, consumer behaviour, and ethical issues in marketing communications. Nicola Newton, associate professor in Laurier’s Department of Psychology, is an expert on adult development and aging, marriage and health among older couples, and how gender, social roles, health and well-being are associated with personality development, particularly in later life. She is currently studying personal identity revision in older adults as they transition through retirement and deal with on-going age-related change (physical, psychological and social). She’s also collaborating on research examining stress, relationship quality and health among older couples.
