I was interested in social media, innovation, and the relationship between marketing efforts and financial outcomes. So, I searched online to find a good fit. I looked everywhere to find a program that would cover what I was looking for. That’s when I stumbled upon the Lazaridis School of Business and Economics’ webpage.
My research interests were close to that of Zhenfeng Ma, Chatura Ranaweera, and Tripat Gill. I had a conversation with Dr. Ma about what I can do if I enrol in the marketing program. He mentioned some of their future projects and I was fascinated by them. Knowing about these projects made my decision really easy. I applied to the marketing program and fortunately got accepted.
Broadly speaking, I’m interested in consumers’ online communications. I want to see how people affect each other and how online conversations affect businesses.
I’m also interested in the way people perceive algorithms. Specifically, why do people avoid algorithms and how can businesses confront this type of behaviour.
