Print | PDFMy journey into Korean traditional dance began when I joined the 'Little Angels Dance Company' (Children's Folk Ballet of Korea) in an art middle school. I was then invited by the United Nations to start performing domestically and abroad as part of a cultural diplomacy delegation, having performed hundreds of times. During middle school I won the first prize for three consecutive years, which further cemented my passion and confidence in performing, and so I decided to keep major in Korean traditional dance at an art highschool and university. After graduation, I worked as a professional Korean traditional dancer and performed actively in a city dance company in Korea. In 2020, I have started a new dance journey in Canada, following my childhood dream of teaching the beautiful nuances and energetic flows of Korean dance and culture to passionate students, including locals, Korean immigrants and people from all over the world. I am currently working as a choreographer, dancer and instructor at the Navillera dance studio, the first Korean dance educational institution in Toronto. I am also conducting workshops and performances around Ontario and in Montreal.
