I am a recording artist and the host of Netflix’s Hip-Hop Evolution.
I released my first album in 2005 – while completing my BBA at Laurier – have since released several albums and EP's. I have toured extensively in Canada and the U.S. and also performed overseas. My albums have been recognized by the Canadian music industry's most high-profile awards – a Juno Award and 5 Polaris Music Prize shortlist nominations. Additionally, I have had the opportunity to host Q on CBC Radio and Hip-Hop Evolution on Netflix, and I earned an MA from Simon Fraser University.
It’s a special honour to be invited to return to Laurier to share what I’ve learned and continue to learn as an artist and life-long student of music.
Laurier was where I began my career and met colleagues (manager, touring DJ) that I still work with today.
It was a pivotal chapter for me so it is exciting to be with Laurier students as they move through that same stage of life.
