Reconfigurable network computing platform (2007-present). This project delivers a new computing platform for solving large and complex distributed computing problems. It was supported by Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council in early investigation and by Ontario Centres of Excellence (OCE) for commercialization.
Communication middleware system for smart grid (2012-2015). This project is a joint project with the University of Waterloo and industrial partners. It is to deliver a communication software system which provides reliable, secure and high performance 2-way communications among utility servers, macrohubs, microhubs and smart sensors/controllers for data acquisition, monitoring and control, distributed optimization computing.
Sub-Ghz wireless sensor networks (2013-2014). This project is to deliver a reliable embedded software for wireless sensor network (WSN) based on DASH7 communication protocol. This project involves both hardware and software implementation.
I have research assistantships opportunities for undergraduate interested in software development for smart grid and cloud computing, as well as hardware design and implementation for networks-on-chip.
