    CV

Borzou is an assistant professor of Operations and Decisions Sciences at Lazaridis School of Business and  Economics, Wilfrid Laurier University. He is also a researcher at the Canada Excellence Research Chair in Data Science for Real-Time Decision-Making at Polytechnique Montreal and Interuniversity Research Centre on Enterprise Networks, Logistics and Transportation (CIRRELT). Prior to joining Laurier, Borzou was a postdoctoral researcher at Polytechnique Montreal, École de Technologie Supérieure, Montreal, and TU Dortmund, Germany. Borzou holds a PhD in Information Technology/Operations Research from the Polytechnic University of Milan, Italy.

     His current research interests include:

    • Supply chain and retails analytics and optimization
    • Integrated supply chain planning (e.g., location-routing, production-distribution, sales-operations)
    • Supply chain network design (e.g., facility location, hub network design)
    • Large-scale Optimization (e.g., Benders decomposition, outer approximation, column generation, Lagrangian relaxation, branch-and-cut, branch-and-price)
    • Data-driven optimization (e.g., techniques based on stochastic programming, dimensionality reduction techniques, distributionally robust optimization)
    • Machine learning utilization for real-time decision making in supply chain networks
    • Transportation and logistics with interactions (e.g., nonlinear vehicle routing, nonlinear shortest path)

I supervise graduate students and post-doctoral fellows in the area of (but not limited to) supply chain analytics, transportation and logistics, network design, data-driven optimization, and nonlinear combinatorial optimization. If you are interested in my research areas, please directly contact me for more information and include your cv and a description of your research interests as well as the type of position you are interested in pursuing.

We are currently accepting PhD students. In our PhD program in Supply Chain, Operations and Technology Management, we welcome applications from students with backgrounds in business, mathematics, engineering, economics and related fields. The ODS area has a diverse set of faculty members interested in topics including innovation, healthcare operations, energy, operations research and supply chain management. If you have questions about the program please contact me or visit our PhD website.
