Hamid Noori is a distinguished Innovation and Operations Management Professor at the Lazaridis School of Business and Economics with a Ph.D. from Ivey Business School. His leadership has been instrumental in shaping groundbreaking programs at Wilfrid Laurier University such as the WLU Research Center for Management of Technology (REMAT), the Lazaridis Ph.D. & MSc Programs and the Executive Master’s in Technology Management (EMTM) have significantly influenced the academic and professional landscape at Laurier. As former Laurier Academic Chair Professor in Enterprise Integration & Technology Management and Visiting Chair Professor in Technology Management Under the Distinguished Scholars Scheme at Hong Kong Polytechnic University, he has championed the intersection of technology and management education.
Globally respected, Noori has held visiting professorships at prestigious institutions like UC Berkeley, USC’s Marshall School of Business, Fudan, and Tsinghua Universities in China. His cutting-edge research spans innovation in supply chains and the creation of sustainable healthcare systems using circular information platforms. He has led research projects for leading organizations, including Canada’s NRC, NSERC, and SSHRC, as well as industry giants like Chrysler and Bell Canada.
Hamid Noori’s contributions to academia and industry have been substantial, earning him numerous accolades and recognition. His work on "Danier Leather, Inc." won the International Case Competition Award from the Productions and Operations Management Society (POMS), and he was also honoured with the 2001 Award for Innovative Excellence in Teaching, Learning & Technology. Throughout his career, he has supervised over 60 graduate theses and major research, published over 90 papers, authored five books, and was honoured with Laurier’s prestigious University Research Professor Award in 1993. His industry experience with Japan's Nippon Electric Company (NEC) further reflects his broad influence across academia, research, and the corporate world.

Professor Noori was the recipient of the University Research Professor Award in 1993. He previously served as Laurier Chair in Enterprise Integration and Technology Management from 2001 to 2011 and was the Visiting Chair Professor of Management of Technology (under the Distinguished Scholars Scheme) at the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering, Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He received the Award for Innovative Excellence in Teaching, Learning and Technology at the 12th International Conference on College Teaching and Learning in 2001. His case, Danier Leather, Inc., won the International Case Competition Award sponsored by the Production and Operations Management Society and Indiana University in 2001. Professor Noori has taught and made presentations in many academic institutions in Canada, the U.S., Central America, Europe, the Middle East and Southeast Asia. His publications appear in Management Science, POMS, Decisions Sciences, Naval Research Quarterly, Interfaces, IEEE Transactions, and many others. He has authored more than 100 papers and 4 books.
At Laurier, he has supervised three PhD students and over 50 graduate projects and theses. He currently has one doctoral student under supervision.
