I am a member of the OB/HRM faculty and teach organizational behaviour and leadership at the undergraduate and MBA levels at Laurier’s Waterloo and Toronto campuses. I earned my PhD in Business Administration (OB) from the Ivey Business School, my MBA in Strategic Management from the Sauder School of Business, and my BA (Hons) in English and Psychology from Dalhousie University.
I have co-authored several award-winning cases and journal articles, as well as several book chapters and a new book on case writing (2023 release). I have presented my research at major national and international conferences including the North American Case Research Association, the Academy of Management, and the Administrative Sciences Association of Canada. I serve on the Editorial Board of the Case Research Journal. In 2020, my teaching was recognized with the Dr. Donald Morgenson Award for Early Career Excellence from Laurier.
I am an experienced, certified project manager (PMP). Before earning my PhD, I worked in the public sector as a senior manager in health care, utilities and higher education, as well as in the private sector as a management consultant specializing in family businesses. Most of my professional work has centered on effective change management within large, complex organizations. I have taught at universities around the world including Japan, Russia and at home in Canada.
My current research focuses on case writing, case diversity, case teaching and live cases.
