The Joyce Family Foundation Bursary at Laurier Milton Campus is a new renewable bursary valued at a minimum of $5,000 per academic year and is exclusive to students beginning any full-time undergraduate program at Laurier’s Milton campus.
Recipients of the bursary must also commit to working with student support services and submit a brief report on their involvement with the service each year. The team at Laurier will provide you with information and/or contact details for on-campus student service support opportunities.
This bursary can also be combined with other entrance scholarships, bursaries and awards.

Eligibility
You are eligible for the Joyce Family Foundation Bursary at Laurier Milton Campus if you:
- Are an undergraduate student starting your first year of studies at Laurier’s Milton campus in any program in fall 2025.
- Are registered as a full-time student.
- A full-time course load is 2.0 credits per term, or the approved reduced course load registration outlined by your accommodation plan with Accessible Learning.
- Have graduated high school within the last three years.
- Can demonstrate financial need.
- Are a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or a protected person.
All students who meet the eligibility requirements will be considered, however first preference for the bursary will be granted to applicants with a home address in the Halton Region.
You are eligible to receive the bursary in your upper years if you:
- Are registered as a full-time (a minimum 2.0 credits per term or according to the approved reduced course load registration outlined by your accommodation plan with Accessible Learning) student in any program at Laurier’s Milton campus.
- Maintain a cumulative GPA of 4.0 (C-).
- Commit to working with student support services and submit a brief report on your involvement with the service.
- The report must be submitted before you are qualified for renewal of the bursary.
How to Apply
The application opens on May 23, 2025. The application deadline is June 23, 2025 (11:59 p.m. EDT.)

To submit your application:
- Log in to LORIS.
- Navigate to the "Student Awards and Financial Aid" tab.
- Click the “Student Awards Applications” link to access the Joyce Family Foundation Bursary at Laurier Milton Campus application.
Once started, you will be able to review and make changes to your submission up until the deadline.
Application Components
The application for the Joyce Family Foundation Bursary at Laurier Milton Campus will include:
- A 500-word personal statement sharing personal circumstances which can speak to your resilience and determination in the face of adversity and potential for success in your postsecondary studies.
- A completed full-time financial aid application (e.g., OSAP, Out-of-Province/Territorial Funding) on file as of September 1, 2025.

How to Access Your Application Once Started
- Click the “Student Awards and Financial Aid” tab.
- Click the "View My Applications" link.
- Click to "View/Modify" your Joyce Family Foundation Bursary at Laurier Milton Campus application.
- When your application is complete, click the "Submit" button.
- Visit the "View my Applications" tab to ensure the application shows as "submitted".

Exclusions
- You must be admitted to first-year studies. If you are admitted to advanced year (e.g., transfer credits) standing, you will not be considered for the bursary.
- Bachelor of Education (BEd) programs are not eligible, as this is a recruitment-focused award for first-entry undergraduate students.
- The bursary cannot be deferred. If you want to defer your offer of admission, you will need to reapply for the JFFB for the term you will start at Laurier.
- The bursary is renewable for a maximum total of four years.
- If you choose to transfer from the Milton campus to another Laurier campus, you will no longer be eligible to receive the bursary.
