Laurier continues to be a destination of choice for higher education as it welcomes largest incoming class

Waterloo – The number of Ontario high school students who have accepted an offer of admission for full-time, first-year studies at Wilfrid Laurier University represents the university’s largest-ever incoming class, according to data provided by the Ontario Universities' Application Centre (OUAC).

As of June 1, the date by which Ontario high school students are expected to accept an offer of admission, the number of Ontario high school students who had accepted an offer of admission for first-year studies at Laurier was 4,839 — up 748, or 18.3 per cent, over the same time last year. The increase is the second highest in the province, which saw a sector-wide increase of 1.9 per cent.

Laurier’s confirmation results reflect the university’s commitment to academic excellence, student support, and an integrated approach to learning that provides the essential, future-focused skills students require for success.

In addition to those students entering directly from Ontario high schools this fall, Laurier’s incoming undergraduate class will include students who are applying for first-year studies after a year or more away from high school, Canadian students outside of Ontario, as well as international students. Confirmations from these cohorts of students have also increased by 146 confirmations over the same time last year. Confirmation data for graduate studies will be shared when available.
