For Immediate Release
BRANTFORD – Wilfrid Laurier University has re-opened the Brantford Podcasting Studio at One Market as an inclusive space designed to encourage research, collaboration, creation and presentation of digital stories.
The studio was in hiatus during the pandemic and has re-opened under the guidance of the Laurier Library.
Laurier staff, faculty, students and the broader community can access professional recording equipment and advice from Laurier’s podcaster-in-residence, Avery Moore Kloss. As a journalist, marketer, podcast host and award-winning radio documentarian, Moore Kloss helps others tell their stories through audio and teaches in Laurier Brantford's Digital Media Skills Certificate program.
“I am so excited to see the studio open again,” said Moore Kloss. “It’s important that Laurier Brantford, along with the City of Brantford and County of Brant communities, have access to this space that encourages storytelling and discussion.”
Moore Kloss is a graduate of Carleton University’s School of Journalism and the Salt Institute for Documentary Studies.
Podcasters can sign up for in-person and virtual office hours, available four days a week. The office hours are meant for aspiring podcasters who need help to get started or keep going with podcast and audio projects.
The podcasting studio is now open by appointment during the following hours:
