Laurier ranks among top six per cent of universities worldwide

Wilfrid Laurier University is among the top six per cent of universities worldwide according to the Center for World University Rankings, which ranks 19,788 universities according to their quality of education and faculty, alumni employment and research performance.

Laurier also ranked:

• in the top three per cent in the world for alumni employment rate and
• top six per cent for research performance.

About the Center for World University Rankings

The top 2,000 universities were ranked in the centre’s Global 2,000 List, which was published on April 26, 2021. Laurier ranked 1,182 of 19,788.

The Center for World University Rankings publishes the largest academic rankings of global universities and uses objective indicators, rather than surveys or university-supplied data, to rank the schools relative to their size.

Quality of education is measured by the number of alumni who have won major academic distinctions; alumni employment is measured by the number of alumni who have held top executive positions at the world’s top 2,000 public companies; quality of faculty is measured by the number of faculty members who have won major academic distinctions; and research performance is measured by the total number of research papers, the number of papers appearing in top-tier journals and highly influential journals, and the number of highly cited research papers.
