We are continuing to monitor conditions of the COVID-19 pandemic as part of our commitment to ensuring a safe and healthy in-person experience for our students, staff and faculty.
Responding to the recent increase of COVID-19 cases in our local communities, Wilfrid Laurier University will keep its mandatory face-covering policy in effect until May 31. We will reassess these requirements at the end of May.
Continuing to wear masks will allow us to protect our communities and avoid contributing to the spread of the virus during the current wave. The university will continue to provide masks to students, staff and faculty at no cost.
We can expect that masking requirements will vary for the foreseeable future as we respond to the changing nature of the pandemic.
Important reminders:
I appreciate your patience and cooperation as we modify our requirements in response to the changing conditions. Please continue to visit the COVID-19 recovery hub for the most up-to-date information.
Sincerely,
Deborah MacLatchy, PhD
President and Vice-Chancellor
