Print | PDFThe Sustainability Office at Wilfrid Laurier University will run the Move-Out program at Laurier’s Waterloo campus from April 5 to 26. Organized in partnership with the Department of Residence and Facilities and Asset Management, Laurier’s Move-Out program aims to divert unwanted household items from landfills as students vacate their residences at the end of the academic year.
Furniture, small appliances, electronics clothing in good condition, along with unopened food items, can be donated to the program. Donations can be brought to the overhead delivery door located in the northwest parking lot at 230 Regina Street on weekdays from 10 to 11 a.m. and 3 to 4 p.m. Additional drop-off times can be arranged by emailing sustainability@wlu.ca.
Items collected through the Move-Out program will be donated to the Laurier Students’ Public Research Interest Group’s distribution initiative, the Food Bank of Waterloo Region, Diabetes Canada and Tech Wreckers. Items not taken by these groups will be donated to the Laurier Free Store.
Faculty, staff and students who donate items to the Move-Out program will have food credits added to their Laurier OneCard accounts. Food credits can be redeemed anywhere Laurier OneCards are accepted.
Questions about the Move-out Program can be sent to sustainability@wlu.ca.
