Print | PDFTwo researchers engaged in the areas of sustainability and planetary health will share their knowledge and ideas for the future during “Planetary Health: Conservation and Sustainability of Canada’s Natural Resources,” taking place Nov. 16 as part of the Laurier Milton Lecture Series.
The event will feature Ernest Yanful, senior advisor in the establishment of engineering programs at Laurier’s future Milton campus, and Heidi Swanson, the university’s inaugural Jarislowsky Chair in Sustainable Water Futures.
Yanful will share thoughts about the design of the sustainability engineering program to be offered at Laurier’s Milton campus. Swanson will discuss the issue of contaminants in subsistence food fish in the Dehcho region of the Northwest Territories, as well as how the work of researchers is supporting the sustainability of Canada’s natural resources.
The lecture will be held at the First Ontario Arts Centre, 1010 Main St. E. in Milton, on Nov. 16 from 7 to 8 p.m. Admission is free, but those planning to attend are asked to register through the Milton Public Library’s website.
The Laurier Milton Lecture Series provides members of the public the opportunity to engage in dialogue on topics of importance with Laurier experts. Presentations represent the current research and analysis of members of different faculties, departments and programs at Laurier.
Lectures in the current Laurier Milton Lecture Series take place through May 2023. Visit wlu.ca for a complete list of upcoming lectures.
