Print | PDFEvery year, Wilfrid Laurier University celebrates teaching excellence through the Donald F. Morgenson Awards for Teaching Excellence and the Student Teaching Awards of Excellence. These awards recognize faculty, student teachers and staff who make significant contributions to the learning experiences of Laurier students through innovative, inclusive and inspired teaching practices.
Nominations are now being accepted for the Student Teaching Awards of Excellence and the Donald F. Morgenson Awards for Teaching Excellence.
The Donald F. Morgenson Awards for Teaching Excellence recognize faculty for both sustained and early career excellence, for being mentors and classroom innovators who actively engage students, and for embedding internationalization into curriculum and pedagogy. Laurier staff can be nominated for contributions to teaching and learning that exemplify the institution's commitment to academic excellence. The awards program has seven categories:

Students who are interested in nominating a faculty or staff member and would like information about eligibility and nomination requirements can email teachingawards@wlu.ca.
Completed nomination packages for the awards are due by Feb. 1, 2023.

The Laurier Student Teaching Awards of Excellence recognize students who demonstrate excellence through teaching, mentoring and leadership and positively impact the learning and development of Laurier students. There are three categories: undergraduate, master’s and doctoral.

To self-nominate or nominate a student, please complete the nomination form, including the nominee’s name and department and a brief description of how the nominee’s teaching contributions have positively impacted student learning at Laurier.
The student awards nomination period will close on Jan. 20, 2023.
