Known for his unbreakable spirit and positivity, Joseph’s courage, selflessness and determination served as an inspiration to all who knew him. He is remembered by friends and colleagues at Laurier as a brilliant, compassionate and genuine individual who possessed an outstanding sense of humour.
Joseph’s studies in Criminology were driven by his deep desire to become a first responder and make a difference in people’s lives. He was dedicated athlete who found joy playing soccer, hockey, football and rowing. His many interests also included hiking, playing pool, video games, movies and enjoying board games with family.
A loving son, brother, friend and boyfriend, Joseph’s support and encouragement knew no bounds. He always extended a helping hand and insightful words; shared meals and offered kindness to those less fortunate; and had a great rapport with children, delighting in their playfulness and innocence. Joseph always strived to better himself in body, mind and spirit.
As we mourn the loss of Joseph, the Laurier community joins his family in remembering the profound impact he made during his life, as well as his radiant spirit, unwavering love, determination and strength.
Losing a student has a significant impact on the entire Laurier community. The university is focused on offering support and ensuring the well-being of students, faculty and staff. As we mourn Joseph, Laurier reminds students, staff and faculty of the support services available at the university:
