Print | PDFFor the fourth year in a row, blood donors from Wilfrid Laurier University exceeded the university’s annual pledge of blood donations to Canadian Blood Services in 2023.
Laurier pledged 475 donations last year, with donors contributing 494 units of blood for patients in need. The university has renewed its pledge of 475 donations for 2024.
“Laurier donors continually show up for the hundreds of Canadians who rely on blood and blood products each day. Thank you for your outstanding support.”
Blood and blood products can be used while treating diseases such as cancer, bleeding disorders, and as part of routine surgeries and medical procedures.
“Canadian Blood Services thanks the dedicated community of blood donors at Wilfrid Laurier University,” says Marisa Gatfield, community development manager at Canadian Blood Services. “Laurier donors continually show up for the hundreds of Canadians who rely on blood and blood products each day. Thank you for your outstanding support.”
Laurier is a member of Canadian Blood Services’ Partners for Life program. Since joining the program in 2010, Laurier’s Partners for Life team members have donated more than 5,000 units of blood.
Faculty, staff, students, alumni and friends of the university are invited to give blood as part of Laurier’s Partners for Life team. Appointments can be booked online at any Canadian Blood Services clinic location in Canada.

In Brantford, a mobile donor clinic will be held on April 27 at Branlyn Community Centre. Limited appointments are available.
