Print | PDFWilfrid Laurier University is deeply saddened by the passing of local community leader and alumna Wendi Campbell. Wendi passed away on Jan. 15, 2024, after a battle with brain cancer. She was 53 years old.
As chief executive officer of the Foodbank of Waterloo Region for 15 years and a member of their team since 1999, Wendi made an indelible mark on her community, striving to make it a better place, especially for those experiencing food insecurity.
Wendi earned a Master of Business Administration degree from Laurier in 2008. She remained involved with her alma mater in a variety of ways, including as a panelist for Laurier’s International Women’s Day Luncheon in 2020, where she discussed her leadership journey and the impact women have on food distribution.
Wendi will be greatly missed by her husband Craig and two children, Madison and Benjamin, as well as many community members and friends, including those at Laurier.
A celebration of life for Wendi will take place Mar. 10 at 1 p.m. at Federation Hall at the University of Waterloo.
