Print | PDFWilfrid Laurier University has re-appointed Jason Coolman as vice-president: advancement and external relations following a five-year review of his initial appointment made in 2019. Coolman’s re-appointment will begin effective August 1, 2024.
Throughout his time as vice-president: advancement and external relations, Coolman has led several projects to strengthen Laurier’s strategic relationships and partnerships in Laurier communities, including Kitchener-Waterloo, Brantford and Milton; enhanced relationships with the Laurier Alumni Association; integrated the advancement and external relations portfolios; led processes to assess and grow impact, including reputational research and the Inspired Research. REAL IMPACT. campaign; oversaw enhancements to Laurier’s communication strategy; and met and exceeded ambitious fundraising goals.
He has led the execution of important projects supporting the academic, student and community missions of the university through strong relationships with key donors and partners, including the Savvas Chamberlain Music Building, Alumni Field, and the proposed Cultural Hub in One Market in Brantford.
“Laurier is a multi-campus university with deep connections to its host communities,” said Coolman. “I am incredibly excited to continue our efforts in growing Laurier’s impact through engagement with senior leaders, Board members, the Alumni Association, donors, partners, and other university stakeholders.”
Coolman holds a Bachelor of Arts from Brock University, majoring in Political Science with an emphasis in Business Administration. He also holds a Master of Arts in Leadership from the University of Guelph. He is currently vice-chair (U.S./Canada council) of the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education.
