Print | PDFWilfrid Laurier University celebrates teaching excellence through the annual Donald F. Morgenson Awards for Teaching Excellence and Student Teaching Awards of Excellence.
The awards recognize faculty, student teachers and staff who make significant contributions to the learning experiences of Laurier students through innovative, inclusive and inspired teaching practices. Nominations are now being accepted for the Donald F. Morgenson Awards for Teaching Excellence (Feb. 2 submission deadline) and the Student Teaching Awards of Excellence (Jan. 19 submission deadline).
The Donald F. Morgenson Awards for Teaching Excellence honour faculty who, through their commitment to exemplary teaching, have made significant contributions to the educational experience of Laurier students. Laurier staff can be nominated for contributions to teaching and learning that exemplify the institution’s commitment to academic excellence. The awards program includes seven categories:
Nominations are welcome from all members of the Laurier community and due by Feb. 2. Faculty and staff can find complete nomination criteria, including application forms and submission deadlines, on Connect. Students and other community members interested in nominating a faculty or staff member can email teachingawards@wlu.ca for information.

The Laurier Student Teaching Awards of Excellence honour Laurier students who demonstrate excellence through their teaching responsibilities and positively impact the learning and development of fellow Laurier students.
The awards include three categories: undergraduate, master’s and doctoral.

To self-nominate or nominate a student, please complete the nomination form, including the nominee’s name and department and a brief description of how the nominee’s teaching contributions have positively impacted student learning at Laurier. The student awards nomination period will close on Jan. 19.
