Wilfrid Laurier University’s five-year Strategic Academic Plan was developed through a university-wide consultative process over 2022/23 and was approved by the university Senate in the fall of 2023.
Led by the Office of the Provost and Vice-President: Academic, this plan is based on broad consultations with the deans, faculty, librarians, staff and senior leadership. More than 400 members of the Laurier community provided feedback on a preliminary draft in the 2022/23 academic year.
The consultations and feedback resulted in the development of three goals:
- Advancing Transformative Education
- Thriving Comprehensive University
- Communities Integrated into a Vibrant Whole
Each goal has clearly articulated objectives to help guide the academic work at the university. The Strategic Academic Plan will establish Laurier as an institution for transformative education in the years to come.
