Print | PDFThe Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) International has renewed the Lazaridis School of Business and Economics’ global accreditation in recognition of the high-quality business and economics education at Wilfrid Laurier University.
“AACSB accreditation is an important seal of approval that tells the world we deliver business and economics education that is on par with the very best in the world,” said Kyle Murray, dean of the Lazaridis School. “This marker of excellence reinforces to employers that our experiential education prepares students to take on society’s toughest business challenges.”
The Lazaridis School has been accredited by AACSB since 2004. One of Canada’s first business programs to earn this accreditation, the Lazaridis School is among 1,026 institutions worldwide in over 65 countries and territories to earn this designation. Laurier was among 86 institutions to receive accreditation renewal this year.
“AACSB congratulates each institution on achieving AACSB accreditation,” said Stephanie Bryant, executive vice president and global chief accreditation officer at AACSB. “The commitment to earning accreditation is a true reflection of each school’s dedication—not only to its students, alumni network, and greater business community—but to society as a whole.”
The accreditation process is rigorous with in-depth assessments of internal activities and an in-person evaluation of continuous improvement by peers. This process takes place over many years during which time institutions must focus on developing and implementing a plan to achieve their mission and to align with AACSB accreditation standards requiring excellence in areas of strategic management, innovation, research, teaching and learning.
AACSB is a global non-profit association that connects educators, students and business to achieve a common goal to create the next generation of leaders. Its mission is to elevate the quality and impact of business schools globally and aims to achieve this through positive societal impact within the schools.
