    Application Checklist

    To complete the Lazaridis MBA online application process, you must provide the following information:

    • A printed PDF OUAC Application Submission Summary form (completed in Step 1 of your online application).
    • A completed Statement of Intent Form.
    • A resumé outlining your academic and work experience. Your resumé should account for all periods of time, and indicate if employment is: full or part-time, a co-op work term completed within your undergraduate degree, and whether it is managerial.
    • Official transcripts and degree certificates. Digital copies of all transcripts and graduation certificates (where applicable) for every postsecondary educational institution you have attended will be required. These include those at which a degree or diploma was not completed. Further information regarding transcript requirements can be found on our supplemental materials page. Applicants may apply with unofficial or official transcripts, however will be asked to present official transcripts upon receipt of an offer of admission. Applicants presenting international credentials must provide literal translations and may be asked to submit an official credential assessment.
    • Accurate reference information.
      • Applicants to the full-time MBA with Co-op are required to submit three academic references (or two academic and one professional reference).
      • Applicants with two years of full-time work experience or more, applying to the one year full-time MBA or one of the part-time MBA programs, are required to submit three professional references or, if any education has been completed within the last three years, one academic reference along with two professional references is required.
      • Note: Reference information will be collected electronically. Applicants must provide the contact information of each referee within part one of their online application. The three referees will then receive email instructions on submitting the specific reference forms electronically after part one of your application has been submitted and fees have been processed. Reminder notifications are sent to the applicant, not the referee.
    • Evidence of quantitative skills. Applicants may demonstrate quantitative skills through any of the following:
      • Significant work experience (at least two years) in a paid role that requires quantitative knowledge and application;
      • Successful completion (within the last five years) of BU205: Introduction to Applied Statistics or BU255: Managerial Statistics, or an equivalent undergraduate course from any Canadian university or college as determined by the Admissions Committee;
      • We accept results of the GMAT Focus exam with a score of 525 or higher (GMAC conversion table).
      • We also accept a CFA level 1 pass or a GRE score.

    Additional Requirements for Permanent Residents of Canada

    Permanent Residents will be required to provide the following additional information:

    • Proof of permanent residency (mandatory). Evidence of your status in Canada is required. Applicants must provide a photocopy of their signed Record of Landing, or photocopies of both sides of their Permanent Resident card.
    • English-language test results (if required). English language proficiency in written and spoken English is essential to graduate studies at Laurier. Applicants whose language of instruction during their previous postsecondary education was not in English must submit evidence of proficiency in English. Visit our International Applicants page for English-proficiency requirements and acceptable tests. If applicable, test results must be uploaded to Laurier’s online registration and information system.

    Additional Requirements for International Applicants

    International Applicants will be required to provide the following additional information:

    • English-language test results. English language proficiency in written and spoken English is essential to graduate studies at Laurier. Applicants whose language of instruction during their previous postsecondary education was not in English must submit evidence of proficiency in English. Visit our International Applicants page for English-proficiency requirements and acceptable tests. If applicable, test results must be uploaded to Laurier’s online registration and information system.
    • For international applicant details and assistance, please review the Graduate Admissions Toolkit. If you have any questions about your eligibility or the application process, please contact the MBA program office.
    • A completed Authorization of Information Release (AIR) form is required if you have engaged the services of an education agent/agency. Upload it to your application checklist when you identify your agent in the OUAC application. Visit Step 2 for more information about the AIR.

    Step-By-Step Guide on How to Apply

    Applying for admission to the Lazaridis MBA degree program requires the completion of a two-part online application process. We encourage all applicants to review our step-by-step instructions below and visit the Graduate Admissions Toolkit for additional application support.

    1. Create an online account.
    2. Begin your online application by selecting your MBA degree of choice, entering your information, and the contact information for your three selected referees.
    3. Provide payment of the required application fee.
    4. Submit part-one of your online application and save a copy of the PDF submission summary form on your computer for later upload to the Laurier graduate application Online Registration and Information System (LORIS).
    5. When your application data has been processed by Laurier, you will receive an email from gradadmissions@wlu.ca, the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies, directing you to Laurier’s graduate application site to access part-two of your application.
      Note: Processing part one of your application may take up to five business days from the time you submit your application and pay your application fee.
    6. Within part two of your application via LORIS, upload all of your required supplemental material, including unofficial transcripts as a PDF.
      Note: All supplemental documents, including transcripts and test scores, must be uploaded in PDF format.

    Rolling Admissions

    Our Full-Time, Full-Time + Co-op and Part-Time MBA programs follow a rolling admissions model for domestic applications and international students. Applications are reviewed as they are received, and offers are made year-round until each cohort is full or the deadline passes. Applicants are encouraged to apply early to secure their spot, as programs can fill quickly. 


    International Applicants:

    We strongly recommend applying early to allow enough time to obtain a study permit.

    Admission Deadlines

    Application portal opens: October of each year

    Full-time & Full-time Co-op

    • International Application deadline: March 30
    • Domestic Application deadline: July 15

    Part-time

    Applications open in the year before your intended start date.

    You can start your Part-time MBA in:

    • January - apply by December 1
    • May - apply by April 1
    • September - apply by July 15
