Laurier's pension plan is a money purchase plan with a minimum guaranteed pension level. This "hybrid" plan design provides you with better benefit than a more traditional defined-benefit plan, because it enables you to reap the rewards of the plan's investment performance, while having the security of a minimum guaranteed benefit.
Laurier offers both a sick leave and abilities management program that provide income protection and support should an employee be unable to attend work or require an accommodation within the workplace for health reasons, due to non-work related illness or injury.
Staff and faculty receive a discount on memberships to the athletic complex. Upon purchase of a membership, staff and faculty have access to their own change area, fitness centre (and use of the pool and squash courts on the Waterloo campus).

An online, asychronous program that will help new employees build foundational knowledge as they begin their time at Laurier. This program will provide information critical to success at Laurier, balancing the timeliness of information for near term actions with what matters most within the first few weeks of employment.
Every summer, new faculty are invited to participate in the New Faculty Orientation Program. This program strives to share the Laurier way through exploring our research story, teaching policies and practices and the supports available to new faculty during the transition to Laurier.
The goal of the New Manager Orientation program is to provide new managers with the training, resources and skills needed to successfully transition to a leadership role at Laurier. This program is available asychronously online and is focused on developing both a managerial skillset and a leadership mindset, as well as providing a general knowledge of policies, procedures and tools to help new managers succeed.

Awarded annually, the Employee Achievement Awards recognize and reward significant contributions by our faculty, contract teaching faculty, staff and management through their application of the Employee Success Factors in the work that they do in support of the Laurier community.
Awarded bi-annually for full-time faculty, staff and management, and annually for contract teaching faculty, long service employees are recognized with a customized gift beginning at their five year anniversary of employment at Laurier and on all subsequent five year intervals (5, 10, 15, 20, 25, etc.)
