Interested in connecting with students or student clubs to build awareness about your organization? There are many ways employers can engage with current students virtually or in person.
Recruiting sessions and booths are a great way to meet with potential applicants and share information about your job posting(s) and your organization (e.g., culture, careers).
For employers who are not actively recruiting, we offer other options to connect with students either individually or in a group (coffee chats, just ask me sessions, alumni connect sessions etc.).
Schedule a recruiting session (virtual or in person) or display table at least one week before the job posting deadline and meet with potential applicants, share organization information and discuss the job opportunity and application process. Book early to secure your preferred date. For more information and to request a session/table, contact recruitlaurier@wlu.ca.
The Career Development Centre offers students opportunities for interview skill development through mock interviews and career planning through informational interviews. In both cases, the interviews are one:one, can be virtual or in person, and approximately 15 minutes in length. The Career Development Centre will plan, promote and schedule the interviews.
Come share your expertise and knowledge, while promoting your organization in the process. The Career Development Centre offers students opportunities for employment preparation and skill development throughout the year.
We can assist you with finding appropriate faculty contact information and arrange meetings with individual faculty members to learn more about our academic programs and graduating students.
We can help you get in contact with student clubs. The Career Development Centre will work with you and the student club to promote your organization and employment opportunities through networking events. For a complete list of student clubs at Laurier, visit the Students’ Union website.
You are welcome to provide posters to promote your organization in the Career Centre. We will post one poster in our Career Resource Centre and a few on campus on the Career Development Centre bulletin boards to advertise recruiting sessions and/or tables. For more advertising options and campus guidelines, see the employer recruiting guidelines.
The Cord (Waterloo campus) and The Sputnik (Brantford campus) are Laurier's student newspapers, published on Wednesdays in print and also available online. Check out our student publications and their advertising rates.
The P4E Job Fairs are the largest events of their kind in Canada – student and alumni attendance is approximately 2,500 to 4,000. Don't miss the opportunity to meet with students from Laurier, University of Waterloo, University of Guelph and Conestoga College.
The events are sponsored by Partnerships for Employment (P4E), a partnership of local post-secondary institutions.
